A majority of the websites in the west are blocked in China, this includes Google, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter/X, Youtube, Vimeo, and when I say majority, it’s almost like every website.
VPN is very commonly used in China these days, you need to get it in case you want to connect with your family friends and work.
Currency Exchange
It’s worth mentioning that USD or Euro or even Hong Kong dollars won’t work in China, usually it’s expensive to exchange currency in the airport, so it’s the best to get them in your local banks, get the best exchange rate.
Digital Payment Apps
You might know people usually pay in Alipay/Wechat in China these days, while cash is still commonly used everywhere, it’s still worth to have it available on your phone.
Why you might ask, there is a tons of apps available inside Alipay and Wechat that allow you to take subway in every city, buying train ticket online, and most important, you don’t have to bring cash with you if you have the apps,
